Haaland Annual Valentines for Vets Delivery

Albuquerque, N.M. - Today, Congresswoman Deb Haaland (NM-01) will be in Albuquerque to deliver valentines cards to veterans and service members as part of her annual Valentines for Vets event.  She will be joined by the VA Medical Center’s Director Andrew Welch to pass out valentines created by Kirtland and Wherry Elementary School students to patients at the Albuquerque Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Congresswoman Haaland grew up in a military family; her father was a 30-year combat Marine who was awarded the Silver Star Medal for saving six lives during Vietnam, and her mother is a Navy veteran who worked as a federal employee for 25 years in Indian education.  Valentines for vets is part of her commitment to ensure this country shows gratitude and keeps its promises to those who sacrifice for our country.
