Press Release

Washington, D.C. – After a report from the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) was released, Congresswoman Deb Haaland (N.M.-01) called for the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to address the gaps in behavioral health services at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque.

“Our veterans rely on the VA for the care that they desperately need – I mean, my own mother receives her medical care at the VA – but right now some of our veterans are waiting unreasonable amounts of time for behavioral health services. I’ll be engaging with the VA and working closely with the New Mexico Congressional delegation to address these shortfalls, so our veterans are taken care of.”

As the daughter of Marine and Navy veterans, Haaland knows the sacrifices veterans make for our country. Haaland is committed to ensuring that veterans are provided the top-notch medical care they deserve and have earned.

If veterans are experiencing delays in service, Haaland encourages them to contact her District Office so a constituent services representative can look into their case. Constituents can call (505) 346-6781, drop by her office at 400 Gold Avenue Suite 680 Albuquerque, N.M. 87102, or request assistance online at Haaland.House.Gov/Services.
