Haaland to Join Juliana v. United States Youth Plaintiffs, Greta Thunberg to Address the Nation on Climate Change
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 18 Congresswoman Deb Haaland will join youth plaintiffs in the Juliana v. United States case including Greta Thunberg, Kelsey Juliana, and Xiuhtezcatl Martinez for an address to the nation in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.

In March, Haaland joined an amicus brief supporting the youth plaintiffs’ fundamental rights and respectfully ask the Courts to grant Plaintiffs a trial to present their case and secure their constitutional rights to life, liberty, property, and public trust resources.
Haaland is working to make New Mexico a leader in addressing climate change while boosting the renewable energy economy through her role as Vice Chair of the Natural Resources Committee. As Chair of the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands, Haaland is making it a priority to reduce the carbon emissions produced on public lands. She continues to support new legislation, including the Green New Deal, to help protect New Mexico’s land, air, and water.
