Haaland Opens People’s Choice Awards for Congressional Art Competition on Facebook
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Now that all Congressional Art Competition submissions have been submitted, Congresswoman Deb Haaland (NM-01) is launching the Congressional Art Competition People’s Choice Awards on Facebook. The community is encouraged to support young artists by voting on their choices from now until 5 p.m. MT on June 5th. The top three artists whose work receives the highest number of Facebook reactions will receive this year’s “People’s Choice Awards.”

More than thirty high school students submitted art for the Congressional Art Competition which was open to all high school students in New Mexico’s First Congressional District. The overall winner of the competition’s art will be displayed for a full year in a U.S. Capitol exhibit that includes artwork from other contest winners nationwide, and the People’s Choice winners will be displayed in the Congresswoman Haaland’s district office in Albuquerque.
