Haaland’s Inaugural Going Green with Deb Event Will Provide Sustainability Resources, Fun for the Community

Going Green with Deb event aims to bring the community into the climate change conversation

Albuquerque, N.M. -- On Saturday, August 17th Congresswoman Deb Haaland (NM-01) will host the inaugural Going Green with Deb event to provide sustainability resources and fun for the community. The event is aimed at making sustainability tools accessible to everyone no matter their socioeconomic status or where they live and bringing the community into the climate change conversation.

Going Green with Deb is open to the public and free fun for the whole family, including a free rain barrel raffle with two chances to win and a food truck. Attendees are encouraged to bring their reusable water bottle to refill at the event which will also include workshops and exhibits on renewable energy, thrifting, recycling, and energy efficient vehicles. 

“Everyone has a role to play in protecting our planet for future generations, and many of the things we can do are small adjustments to our everyday lives,” said Congresswoman Deb Haaland. “I’m excited to build a community conversation around ‘going green’, and make sustainability accessible for everyone.”
